When I finally lost the last 20 pounds, I thought I had it made. I expected to be lean and healthy, attractive and universally desirable. I was still in my early 20s, so I figured that I had plenty of time as a young person to attract the attention of the opposite sex. I guess to understand where I am coming from, you have to know what a crushing blow the stretch marks were to me. I had never been thin and beautiful, but I had always wanted to be. It seemed like quite a few people couldn’t recognize me, so why did I have those awful stretch marks to remind me of what I used to be?
